About the Role

The essential duties and responsibilities of this role include welcoming and serving customers in a friendly and timely manner while providing product information to assist with food and beverage selections. Employees verify legal drinking age by checking IDs, take and transmit orders to the bar and kitchen, and ensure special requests are noted. They pour and serve drinks, deliver orders efficiently, and maintain a clean and organized environment, including the taproom, bar, tables, kitchen, and bathrooms. Responsibilities also include keeping table settings neat by removing dirty dishes, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and addressing spills or special needs. Employees are expected to educate customers on new beers, upcoming events, and KBC news to encourage repeat visits while continually expanding their own knowledge of Kinkaider, Bierhaus Maisschäler, and Sideshow product offerings. Additionally, they promote merchandise and off-sale purchases of these brands and maintain inventory levels of beer, spirits, mixers, and other products.

Handling customer transactions is a key responsibility, including totaling charges, issuing checks, accepting payments, managing the cash drawer, and returning change or credit card slips. Employees must understand and be able to describe KBC loyalty programs, such as BierKlub, Sideshow Society, and Tumblers, when responding to customer inquiries. Compliance with sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies is essential to protect both the establishment and customers. Team members are also responsible for responding to issues in a proactive and professional manner. Lastly, they assist with closing procedures, such as cleaning tables, sweeping floors, emptying trash cans, restocking bathroom supplies, and organizing bar and kitchen areas.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a bartender, server, or similar role. 

  • Proven customer service experience and knowledge. 

  • Food and beverage handling permit. 

  • Strong team member mentality, self-motivated, and excellent communication skills. 

  • Engaging in customer interaction by delivering an excellent customer service experience. 

  • Providing customers with food and beverage selections and delivery. 

  • Upholding KBC standards, policies and procedures. 

  • Reporting to the Taproom Manager.
